This video of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) talking about fossil fuels on the Fox Business Network was one of the "most viewed" on YouTube yesterday:

It's been viewed 351,710 times so far, largely because it was linked to from the Drudge Report. As Politico reports, "Senate Republicans are sending around the video as part of an effort to make Democrats appear out of touch on the need to produce more energy and drill more oil wells."

And there are probably at least a few people watching it because they think Reid is absolutely right. [UPDATE: Friends of the Earth sent out a press release today linking to the video and praising Reid: "Reid’s refreshingly honest rhetoric stood out and won praise from environmentalists at a time when many politicians seem scared to stand up to the oil and gas lobbies and many are even insisting coal can be clean."]

U.S. Money

Please check this out. It's about what we could do with the $165 billion (GOOD things we can do with it) we are giving for war funding.

A disgusting Welch

"Neutron" (the people dissapear, but the building is still there) Jack Welch was on MSNBC this morning, looking the (hi-tech overmedicated)zombie that McCain will be a couple years after taking the bush throne; croaking this, "Drill, drill, drill, build 45 new nuclear power plants!"

And not one of the moderate "journalists" assembled challenged that.  Ponting out that only reducing demand can level out oil prices. More supply is a cruel political mccainiac hoax.

Contrast and compare Immelt as head of GE.  As a replacement for zombie "Drill, drill, drill(er)" Jack.  Immelt is fighting for cap and trade of all things.

Why haven't GM and others switched out the old zombies too?  Lutz get thee to a hi-tech medical rebuild clinic and get your feeble minded hands off of our auto industry.

We the people built it, by buying the cars and building them and feeding the assembley line food chain and supplying GM workers' families with food, energy, and services.  And look ar all the tax dollars in the form of subsidies and the ocasional bailout.  And criminally generous military contracts.  And university automotive techology research supported by taxes.

We need a round of boardroom/executive office  housecleaning.  Out with the neutron Jack zombies, in with the new energy/ag economy wave.

"Coal Makes Us Sick"

Reid shouldn't have oversimplified this. It seems like he did it for the sake of a sound bite.

But, coal very often makes the people who take it out of the ground, sick. He should have mentioned Black Lung.
