I will bring oil to your house, carrying the barrels on my own back!

Now Clinton's going to dissolve OPEC:

"We're going to go right at OPEC," she said. "They can no longer be a cartel, a monopoly that get together once every couple of months in some conference room in some plush place in the world, they decide how much oil they're going to produce and what price they're going to put it at," she told a crod at a firehouse in Merrillville, IN.

"That's not a market. That's a monopoly," she said, saying she'd use anti-trust law and the World Trade Organization to take on OPEC.

Are we allowed to call this desperation yet?

Surprise

Did he figure that out all by himself. The OPEC is a monopoly . What a surprise....

Did the crod respond?

Spooky.

Enron Loophole

OPEC is not the culpret this time, it is good old Wall Street greed. Since we don't build anything anymore we speculate and in ordr to speculate we deregrulate.

That is what happened with the sub prime mess, it took millions of dollars and 25 years to get the Glass-Steagall act repealed. That act seperated banking an speculating,"money Markets" after the depression and was put in place for a reason.

The enron loophole that allowed the OTC over the counter stock exchange that is not regulated to speculate on energy is what will cause $200 a barrel oil and $10.00 a gallon gas.

This is important and above my ability to explain correctly. Will someone research this and come back on with the facts.

If you look at who owns the OTC it will go a long way in explaining what happened.

By the way a commission that included Alan Greenspan argued against setting up a money market that speculated on a finite commodity that was so important to the economy as oil.

The eons of time and nature was good to us down here. It was not until we become civilized that destroying our habitat become fathomable or fashionable.

OPEC

Just like the diamond cartel.  For diamonds it's a minor problem.

But for the fuel that powers the world's transportation?  It starts wars.

But of course once again, as with peak oil, the main problem is GHG climate disaster.  Not the price of oil.  civilization can adapt to rising oil prices, but it can't adapt to climate disaster.

The only way to end both, rising energy prices AND climate disaster, is to go to renewable electric powered transportation.

Software giant Microsoft Corp. will be the official software and high-definition web content provider for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Ok, Hill, tell us how you're really for Linux but Obama forced them to use Windows...

Dulcinea!!!

Isn't that the appropriate cry when you are tilting at windmills? If Hillary is interested in toppling monopolies she could start with WalMart. Sinces she's an insider she could cut her hair and do a Samson in the temple finish and bring down the house.

It's good to have a rich fantasy life and a closed mouth. Daydreaming out loud is a bit scary from a US Senator.
