...something is so wrong it's right.

And sometimes something is so right it's wrong. Earth Day is pretty much the greenwasher's token holiday. Well, except maybe in the kindergarten classroom, where it belongs.

I hate Earth Day for the same reason I hate organized religion--we'll all "get churched" one day a year, recycle a few cans, then go back to running 5 TVs in the house at once and driving of of our four SUVs. But I'm preaching to the choir here...

Hey,

I only have two SUV's. I tow the jeep behind the Hummer to go rock crawling every Friday. Otherwise I just drive one at a time.

Actually I don't really have an SUV but there is a local guy who drives the above rig. He lives right next door to the guy with the "Keep Tahoe Blue" sticker on his GMC quad cab monster truck.

At the other extreme a local community supported agriculture collective is trying to collect compost from restaurants on bicycle trailers. I think they're nuts.

It takes all kinds.

Bumper snicker

On the way home from Mississippi yesterday, flying into Reno and driving south on 395, I saw a bumper sticker that said "Keep Tahoe Nice", alluding to the attitudes of new ultra-rich landowners up there. And, yes, it was on an SUV.

Going from the Gulf Coast fog to the icy fog of 8500 foot Carson Pass is almost more of a contrast than the cultures...LOL

Clarification needed...

Bare with me, any honest Wiccans out there....

but...

Aren't we supposed to "fuck the mother earth" or her , erm, designated representative in a bed of fresh tilled earth on May 1st?

I'm volunteering if any earth momma type is concerned about her garden's fecundity and lacks a representative of the sun. Men can be helpful like that y'know.

Just wondering, curious, not prurient at all. A seeker of information, and video.
