Taking meat off the plate ... and the pole

Vegan strip club closes after one month

Posted by Sarah van Schagen at 11:14 AM on 28 Mar 2008

Ah, Casa Diablo, we hardly knew ye ...

Two things that you can find a lot of in Portland, Ore., are vegans and strip clubs. Johnny Diablo decided to open a business to combine both. At his Casa Diablo Gentlemen's Club, soy protein replaces beef in the tacos and chimichangas; the dancers wear pleather, not leather.

...

Last week Mr. Diablo put the club up for sale ... He may have underestimated the appeal of stripping to vegans, or of vegan cuisine to striptease fans; an earlier vegan restaurant he ran was poorly received.

Most Vegans are ladies

I would also hazard a guess that they have other priorities than their sexuality judging by the local natural food co-op's clientele.

I can't imagine how dead a Tuesday night at a vegan bistro/strip club would be. They probably couldn't even trip the motion detectors.

Put the Carbon Back

Maybe the strippers ....

didn't shave their legs or armpits.
