Go veg ... Hollywood

PETA wants Hollywood hills ad space

Posted by Sarah van Schagen at 3:52 PM on 29 Feb 2008

Remember when I said the land just west of the iconic "Hollywood" sign was for sale? And then joked about interesting advertising opportunities?

Yeah, I wasn't too far off ...

PETA officials said they want to erect a large sign of their own to the west of the famed landmark that would spell out "Go Veg" in 45-foot-high letters.

Heh. They said "erect."

Carbon Doomsday Clock

A giant global warming doomsday clock

With a giant teletron, swithching form environmental disaster scene to eco disaster scene.

Harp seals being clubbed

Exxon Valdez Oil Spill

Martin County Kentucky Coal Slurry/sludge pond failure. 30 times larger than Exxon Valdez.

Series of blasting scenes from Mountain Top Removal Coal Mining. Then fadding to the scene where the overburden is pushed into a Valley Stream.

The Gulf War Oil Wells Burning

The Malibu Fires in the backdrop as Ronald Reagean talks about his shinning city on a Hill.

Katrina Hurricane New Orleans scenes

Coal Powered Power Plants belching black smoke.

Major Lakes that are drying up and drought scenes.

Gridlock on the 5 during rush hour with all those cars sitting there burning fuel.

A couple of Coal Corporation Commercials then cycle the whole thing again in a continuous loop.

The eons of time and nature was good to us down here. It was not until we become civilized that destroying our habitat become fathomable or fashionable.

Unlikely...

...they can't afford to actually buy the property, the just wanna rent it until a permanent buyer is found.  And if the owner really did want to rent it out, then I think there are plenty of other interests with much deeper pockets than PETA.

Still, it would be cool.  They'd probably get alot of media hype from such a thing.

We eat meat - get used to it

Thanks PETA. But what do we do in the rest of the real world? In Africa eating meat is part of the culture (I am from there). People don't look down at vegetarians, but we get the feeling that we can't be green and eat meat? But we eat meat and will be green - more on this in my blog at http://angryafrican.wordpress.com/2008/01/24/we-eat-meat- ...

we've BEEN used to it!

So why are YOU angry, Angry African?  You have had it your way for quite a long time now, haven't you.
