Edwards out

Posted by David Roberts at 9:09 AM on 30 Jan 2008

As you've probably already heard (damn you west coast time!), John Edwards is expected to drop out of the presidential race today. Now all Edwards chatter will turn to the subject of a possible endorsement.

Lawyer Up:

I feel he was committed to getting the corporation lobbist out of government. I hope whoever he endorses is committed to the same and has a strong determination to end mountain top removal.

The eons of time and nature was good to us down here. It was not until we become civilized that destroying our habitat become fathomable or fashionable.
Attorney general Edwards

I hope whoever the democratic candidate is, they enlist democrats like Edwards to campaign as part of the future cabinet.

A whole team of outstanding people, like Edwards as AG and Gore as energy secretary, would create a juggernaut ready to sweep the election and sweep programs for reform through government.

Corporate lobbyists need to be afraid in order to get this done.  Shaking in their suits. A formiddable team like this would do it.

Depak Chopra, surgeon general.

Collin Powell, secretary of defense.  Like Neil Young says in "living With War", to right the wrong he's done.  put him back in the military sphere.

And so forth.  Any other cabinet nominations?  Anyone?

My picks

I like Edwards as AG, but I've been thinking more like putting him at HHS or Labor, if anyone's asking me...maybe HHS, and bring back Reich again for Labor.

And I'm thinking Richardson at Energy (Gore won't do a Cabinet post).

How about EPA?   Kathleen Sebelius?  She's too bland for veep.  She could work out at EPA though.

And let's bring back Eric Shinseki for Defense (he's the general Rummy fired for taking issue with Rummy's dumbass Iraq invasion plan).
