Grist goes to Yearly Kos

Come catch the hotness!

Yearly Kos

As you may or may not know, this weekend the progressive website Daily Kos is holding its annual convention -- YearlyKos -- in Chicago.

According to noted advocate of moderation and compassion Bill O'Reilly, Daily Kos -- which has over 50,000 registered members and on the order of 600,000 visits a day -- is a hate site that's all but indistinguishable from Nazis, the Ku Klux Klan, Mussolini, and David Duke. (Much more here.)

Sounds like it should be a good party!

I will be there to spread the hate, running a panel on global warming politics on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30am. I will be joined by:

Fellow Gristian Tom Philpott will also be there, on panel called "Forging Links to an Alternative Food Chain" (Sat., 9:15-10:15am).

If you're at the convention, or in the area, get in touch. Tom and I will be looking for excuses to drink discuss important issues.

center for american progress

At the Kos conference, someone should ask the center for american progress why they are so heavily promoting flex fuel and corn ethanol.  Doesn't seem much like progress to me.

offsets

Don't forget to buy offsets for that flight...

Wimp!

This is nothin' compared to my old stomping grounds, NYC.  At least it's windy, and at night it's pretty nice.  You'll be near the lake, don't worry.
