Is it because she gave away his hybrid?

Dunno, but if you want to read a bunch of substance-free psychobabble about the possible reasons why Laurie and Larry David are divorcing, you're in luck.

Interesting Split

So let's see...all this time she's been propped up by Larry's money so she can go glob trotting and whine to her friends about "global warming".

Now that she won't have the Sugar Daddy's money, let's see how long it lasts.

It's sort of like all these activists in general -- they are bought and paid for by the system, (Titanic II will keep Leonardo di Idiotico spouting about this or that for decades to come) they see fit to spend their time telling the rest of us how million dollar lifestyles are really the pits.

John . . .

Well, John, that's a bit of a dour take on things, don't you think? You see, in order to be heard, and to trot around the nation, it DOES TAKE MONEY! I don't have it, but I don't begrude those who do (unless it's gained via, say, old family Nazi connections or something sinister) and neither should you.

As for your general statement about activists, I think you're far off the mark. The eco-activists until very recently have been largely limited to academics and environmentalists, both groups to whom huge moneybags are something of a rarity. The recent influx of L.A. cash is a boon, to be sure, but cannot be taken to be the standard operating procedure over the past forty years.

How Much Does a Web Page Cost?

You see, in order to be heard, and to trot around the nation, it DOES TAKE MONEY!

It takes money to ram something down the public's through -- Herr Gore-ing style.

If you want to present information sanely, with facts and data, the cost is zero.

Just set up your own Google Group and load it up with papers, pages and most of all leave the polemic at the door...

Because if you set up a web page and load it with opinion, er, facts ... a ton of people are guaranteed to read it!

Sorry, but it's true: spokespeople in our culture have to be able to access the popular media. This may be unfortunate because of popular media's simplification of all things, but it's true. Having rich/famous people choose to devote time and energy to these issues may spread worthy news in a superficial way, but it's spreading the news nonetheless.

s/n ratio

Adding more noise to an already overburdened noosphere more in the interest of self-promotion than global healing is not a good thing.

Actions speak louder than words.

I implore Leonardo di Caprio: give up the millions, buy a house in Indianapolis for $124,000 and show people how to live CO2 free.

What's that?

You're still finishing your Hi Ball, Leonardo?

Ok, something things will have to wait...
