Uh oh

No jet engines, no problem

Dollars to donuts they aren't talking about using jets for these flights, so I don't have any problem with it at all.  It might be counterproductive, but who knows, maybe not.

Small civil aviation planes use engines not much bigger than those in VWs, and much smaller in many cases than the engines in SUVs.

Besides, it's not like I want aviation to go away--it's jets that have to go.  If we limited ourselves to prop planes, we'd do a hell of a lot less flying at a much higher efficiency.  It would take longer, but as the saying goes, TANSTAAFL.
