McCain flip-flops on ethanol

John McCain tries to explain his flagrant flip-flop on ethanol:

Not that I care if he flounders but

he blew it:

"...every time I've done something for what may have been been influenced by political reasons, I've regretted it. Every time that I have done something I think is right it has turned out OK in the end. I've got to do what I think is right and if it offends a certain political constituency I regret it but..."

Had he stuck to his convictions, like Obama did about the war, he would come out looking like he had some integrity when the ethanol bubble finally pops.
