But on the way to the article, I have to see a splash page advertizing a feature article on the "hot SUVs of 2007". Oh the irony.

Even if biofuels weren't so horribly bloated in pork barrel and largely ineffective at accomplishing anything positive.

How in the world are you going to enforce people to fill up on more costly biofuels over straight gasoline?

Kind of scary actually, saw a similar draft legistlation in California where the the Blue Water Network (i.e. The ones who helped draft the Pavley bill legistlation)

They wanted to make it so that all state purchased biofuel-capable-vehicles would HAVE to use biofuels "unless it was impossible not to do so."
(Yes, they really used that phrase)

It's kinda scary that people writing legistlation think like this.

Proposed v. yeah/nay

Just because legislation is proposed doesn't mean anyone seriously believes it would ever be passed. I'd hazard a guess that in most cases, passing it is not the goal.

But I'm not sure of the statistical deviation around the mean "the guess" actually exhibits.
