I've told you before about the rockin' work of environmental nonprofit Reverb, an organization that partners with musicians like Dave Matthews Band, Avril Lavigne, and Bonnie Raitt to "green" their tours and help educate fans about eco-issues.

This year, they're going even bigger by helping Warner Music Group reduce its industry-size carbon footprint, collaborating with Sheryl Crow and Laurie David on a Stop Global Warming College Tour, and seeking out new artist partnerships -- most recently, indie-rocker Andrew Bird.

Consciousness PavilionAnd this week, Reverb kicks off a reprise of their Campus Consciousness Tour featuring Guster and (up-and-comers?) The Format. The entourage will be traveling in biodiesel-fueled buses and each venue will host a "Consciousness Pavilion" with info and giveaways from various eco-orgs (including Grist!). The CCT will be stopping at U.S. college campuses in the South and Northeast through the end of April.

New to the CCT this year are interactive events including tours of the biodiesel-powered buses, a video booth allowing fans to share their ideas/inspirations about global warming, and a Town Hall Forum discussion between students and administrators about the school's sustainability record.
