Grist cited in Senate hearing

We bad

Posted by David Roberts at 1:38 PM on 21 Mar 2007

In his question/rant for Gore, Sen. Kit Bond (R-Mo.) cited a quote from Gore's interview with Grist. It's this:

"I believe it's appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it is."

The quote bounced around skeptic circles for a long time a while back. Suffice to say, it's been yanked from context and grossly misinterpreted.

See the full story here.

Hurt Me A Little...

...so I don't hurt myself a lot!

That's the Gorista philosophy.

Yipes!

Please, somebody, tell me that everybody who read that interview had already noticed that "over-representation" bit before I went and called attention to it.

How ironic: Kit Bond is one of my Missouri mother-in-law's favorite politicians, right up there with John Ashcroft and Richard Nixon.

Chickens deserve our true friendship! So do fish! So do other sentient beings! Let us learn to be kind.
