Rev. Pat Robertson converts on global warming

Posted by Adam Browning (Guest Contributor) at 12:15 PM on 03 Aug 2006

WWJD? From Reuters:

Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said on Thursday the wave of scorching temperatures across the United States has converted him into a believer in global warming.

"We really need to address the burning of fossil fuels," Robertson said on his "700 Club" broadcast. "It is getting hotter, and the icecaps are melting and there is a buildup of carbon dioxide in the air."

This week the heat index, the perceived temperature based on both air temperatures and humidity, reached 115 Fahrenheit in some regions of the U.S. East Coast. The 76-year-old Robertson told viewers that was "the most convincing evidence I've seen on global warming in a long time."

Next step: doing something about it.

The irony ...

... OK, one of the many ironies here is that this particular heat wave is just a single data point, and as such among the worst evidence of global warming. For a flat-earther like Robertson, I guess, it doesn't matter what the scientists say. You have to actually, physically feel the heat. What a fucktard.

Great

I will not associate with an insane monster like that. If he ever gets on stage with Gore at some environmental function I will quit the whole God-damned movement.

In the end, it all comes down to biodiversity. Poison Darts--Protecting the biodiversity of our world
Funny!

Remember when everyone and their friends in the corporate media said we were nuts to see warmer temps as a sign of global climate disaster?  Now even Pat is screaming about the apocalypse.

So much for the appeal to experts.  The whole crowd of "realists" dissing us bloggerel loons kept quoting climate "scientists".  You know the guys who take bribes for their "science".

Now I hear tell of countless studies that prove the bigger the corporate citizens the more responsible they are environmentally.

Who payed the think tankers that produced these studies?  Hehehehey.

No we are not laughing WITH  you.  Wish I had read all those studies!

Bandwagon Pat

"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms." - Pat Robertson,700 club broadcast

The 2006 Atlantic hurricane season was unusual in that no hurricanes made landfall in the United States of America, the first such occurrence since 2001.- Wikipedia

Bad call Pat, but don't blame the Lord or Consensus Science. After the rapture, who cares!
