Inhofe media critic turns attention to TV

Posted by David Roberts at 1:30 PM on 11 Jul 2006

Sweet Jeebus, he's at it again.

Yesterday I mentioned that Tom Brokaw is hosting the Discovery Channel's special, "Global Warming: What You Need to Know." This has enraged the hack factory that is the Senate Committee on Environment under the hacktastic proprietorship of Sen. James Inhofe (R-Clowntown).

Apparently unbowed by the outcry that greeted his previous missive, committee spokeshack Marc Morano has issued another blast:

Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw's lack of objectivity and balance on the issue of global warming appears to have tainted his upcoming Discovery Channel documentary called: "Global Warming: What You Need To Know" airing on July 16.

Brokaw's partisan past and his reliance on scientists who openly endorsed Democrat Presidential candidate John Kerry in 2004 and who are financially affiliated with left wing environmental groups, has resulted in a documentary that is devoid of balance and objectivity.

And blah blah blah. The big revelation is that many of the scientists who believe the globe is warming rapidly, and that their children and grandchildren stand to suffer from it, have worked in the past to unseat the political party that refuses to do anything about it. The horror. Clearly all their peer-reviewed scientific work must be tossed out immediately.

Keep in mind, your tax dollars are funding this. Public money is being used for a powerful committee chair to dispense propaganda inveighing against a television special. Nothing could better capture the skin-crawling mix of pettiness and moral blindness that characterizes our contemporary political life.

Sen. Inhofe Is Completely Useless

Shilling for the Oil and Gas industry is Sen. Inhofe's greatest accomplishment. In fact, it's his job.

The Oil and Gas industry is the biggest industry in Oklahoma, by far. Rest assured, when Sen. Inhofe goes out and makes a complete fool out of every Oklahoman, he's only doing it to protect the jobs and economy of Oklahoma.

But when he fails to keep those jobs and our economy suffers, yet again, whom is he helping?

I wonder how many of Sen. Inhofe's perfectly heterosexual family members have ties to the Oil and Gas industry?
