It's impossible to forget the images of a hurricane-wrecked New Orleans and its victims that were beamed around the world in the immediate aftermath of the storm. But what did it look like when the TV crews left? Well, um, still bad. Seattle-area photographer Chris Jordan took his camera south this winter to see what the storm had wrought. The message he brings back with his photo essay: our choices matter more than we think.

Thanks for the link to the Common Ground story - very moving stuff which reminds me that there are still many wonderful people on our planet.

I just send them off a big 'ole box of Clif bars (on sale at drugstore.com!). Hopefully more Gristers will spread the word.

It's definately hard to forget about the images of the hurricane-wreaked New Orleans. All along, I thought that things have moved on and changed for the better over the other side. I really didn't expect to see such image. Hopefully, someone would step out and do something soon, rathing than lying it to waste.
